Slip on flange, shorted as SO Flange, is designed to slip over the outside of pipe and fittings and connected with another flanges. It is easier to align than weld neck flanges. SO flange is ideal for low pressure applications and generally provided with raised face.

The differences between them are focused on

1. Welding forms: Weld neck flange can be radiographed but slip on flange can not.

2. Nominal pressures: Nominal pressure of Weld neck flange is 1-25 MPa, while slip on flange is 0.6-4 MPa.

3. Connection Mode: Weld Neck flange is butt welded with pipes and slip on flange usually is fillet.
